Our Story
Altitude810 Vet Sono Academy was established to raise the standard of veterinary ultrasound through clear, structured, and clinically grounded education.
We created the Academy after recognising a simple need: practical training that is high-quality, consistent, and genuinely useful in everyday clinical settings. Our focus is on delivering education that is organised, evidence-based, and easy to apply — without the confusion, gaps, or guesswork that often accompany ultrasound training.
Altitude810 brings together the combined experience of Dr Rayshelle Finch, an advanced ultrasound educator with decades of clinical imaging expertise, and Dr David Hunter, a highly respected veterinarian with more than 35 years of mixed-practice experience. Together, they offer a unique blend of imaging excellence, real-world veterinary insight, and practical teaching that resonates with clinicians at every level. It’s a partnership that brings depth, clarity, and a true powerhouse of knowledge to every course.
Our learning pathways include abdominal, pelvic, reproductive, POCUS, echocardiography and ultrasound-guided procedures — all built around the RAPID Clinical Ultrasound framework developed by Dr Rayshelle Finch.
Our commitment is straightforward: to equip veterinarians with the skills, confidence, and clarity to perform ultrasound with accuracy and purpose.
Professional. Practical. High-quality.
This is Altitude810 Vet Sono Academy.

Our Training Philosphy
At Altitude810 Vet Sono Academy, we believe that high-quality ultrasound education should be structured, practical, and clinically relevant. Our training philosophy blends essential online Core Modules with immersive hands-on learning, ensuring every practitioner builds a strong foundation before refining real-world scanning skills. With ongoing support through the VetSono Atlas, blog articles, and practical tips & tricks, we provide a complete learning pathway that continues long after the course is complete.
A Structured, Modern Learning Pathway
Altitude810’s training begins with a clear foundation. Our online Core Modules — Knobology, Physics, System Optimisation, and Foundations of Scanning — prepare practitioners with the fundamental knowledge needed to approach ultrasound with confidence. This structure allows our in-person sessions to focus on the hands-on elements that matter most: technique, image optimisation, and clinical interpretation.
It’s a streamlined, practical approach that supports consistent, high-quality learning.
Ongoing Support Beyond the Classroom
Learning doesn’t stop when the course ends. Practitioners continue to access guidance through the VetSono Atlas, weekly blog articles, case insights, and practical scanning tips. These resources help clinicians refine their technique, troubleshoot confidently, and stay current with evolving best practice.
Our goal is long-term development — ensuring veterinarians continue to grow their ultrasound skills with clarity and support.
